Black and white. A classic combination. Will it ever go out of style? Doubt it. This is the combo that we (whether we liked it or not) out parents put us into for all special occasions. Last day of school, Christmas dinner, uncle's wedding, family dinner at your i-hate-it-when-you-kiss-me-on-the-lips-twice auntie. As we grow up we tend to put it away to wear colour, weird cuts, fringed t-shirts and all sorts of jeans- from super skinny to super flared. But at some stages in our lives we always come back to it. Be it for work or a date. We can't escape the black and white combo. How is it possible that such opposites work together so well? Is it the cliche of opposites attracting that makes it so... sophisticated? Are black and white even colours? My science teacher (years ago) said that white looks white because it reflects all kinds of rays of light. On the other hand, black absorbs them all and that is why it looks black. Confusing. Is that why they complement each other so well? Is it some kind of neutralising power that keeps the balance right? Hmmm... the main point is that you can never go wrong with it. 'Like.Ever'
