Hidden heel hi-tops have been out there for quite a while. This type of shoe got very popular thanks to a great design by Isabel Marant which got instantly popular among celebrities (Gisele, Beyonce, Miranda Kerr) and bloggers (
The fashion guitar,
Zanita). They did catch my attention early last year but I couldn't really get the gist of it. I was confused as to what they can be worn with? Is it just for casual outfits or can I wear them to a dinner date? But history shows that there's no boundaries as far as hi-tops are concerned. They can be worn with both trousers and skirts/dresses. They can be plain, colourful leather, suede, anything. They can be worn for a walk and to film a pop video e.g. Beyonce's 'Love on top'.
Comfort is the last criterium I think of when it comes to buying shoes. However, once you put a pair of hi-tops on you don't want to take them off. Soooo comfortable! Well, I am used to wearing heels everyday but even if you're not, I'm sure you'll appreciate the blessing of a hidden wedge! I would even go to the extreme and say that they are more comfortable than flats! Some of you will be tapping their temples with their index fingers but I truly believe in it.
I would like to share with you a few looks that I like and also, in case you were wondering where to get such great shoes, a few examples of fantastic pair for every pocket. From a few hundred pounds to £30. Yep, that's exactly how much I paid for my pair from River Island (half price, mustn't grumble).
