Today I wanted to share with you my latest style crush. She's not famous, she's no celebrity, she's no fashion designer. Lucy Chadwick. Lucy is mysterious, beautiful, inspiring and painfully stylish! She's one of the women that can just pop a pair of old jeans and a white t-shirt on and look more than stunning. I fell in love with her style when I saw this video made for Zara ages ago:
No one knows much about Lucy Chadwick. All we know is that she comes from London, she studied Fine Arts in Oxford, moved to New York to live with Duffy, a well-known British hair stylist. That's it. How cool is that? She does some kind of art work, runs a gallery in NY but that is as far as our knowledge of Lucy is concerned. Maybe that's even better. Maybe that is exactly why I became fascinated with her. She's not dating a hot designer, she's not an MP's daughter, she's not famous for anything in particular. She's just a girl next door who has style. And that is probably why Zara was inspired by her as well.
What is Lucy Chadwick's style as we know it? boyfriend or skinny jeans, shirts, oversized jumpers, a scruffy bun on top of her head and the most fashionable glasses ever. That's it. Simple, clean, chic and effortless. Is that the secret? Do we tend to overdo things in order to look... good? When it comes to outfits, less is more (well, not literally - you don't want to be wandering around in a mini skirt and a bra). If you haven't met Lucy before- Lucy, these are my blog readers. My dear blog readers, this is Lucy.
